Stunning Highlands Kitchen Remodel
This Kitchen remodel, featured in the Idaho Statesman, doubled the size of the former Kitchen. The former Kitchen allowed little standing room for gatherings, had low ceilings, and was closed off from the home. The Kitchen remodel included a small addition to the front of the home, creating a wide open space inside for a large central island with seating for four. This Kitchen features a main sink and a prep sink, two dishwashers, a huge single level island, and a separate fridge/freezer side-by-side setup. Cabinets by Jaymark cabinets, interior design by Seed Interiors, Thermadore appliance package provided by Jim’s Appliances in Boise.

After - custom fabricated Ceasar stone island. Before - the former Kitchen's nook did not get used, and with the Dining Room directly adjacent (in foreground), there was no need to have two tables side by side. During - brand new Jaymark cabinets waiting for appliances and countertops.
Completed Kitchen - by bumping out the front of the home by a couple of feet, we were able to design in a huge island. Before - note the door to the right of the range was not affected. What's with the drop down ceiling?
After - prep sink and cook-top area. Before - addition to the left, same door covered over to isolate the home from the construction zone. Drop down ceiling gone. Usually when we remove these ceilings, there is framing visible. In this case, it appears that the ceiling was dropped after the home was completed.
After - looking back towards the former Nook. During - the addition is clearly noticeable here. Typical of Kitchens, a small addition can accommodate a dramatic change. Note to the commercial-grade windows - great idea from the clients.
Undermount sink detail in granite countertop. Excellent job by Advanced Marble and Granite. Window awning crank detail on the commercial windows.

This kitchen addition is a great example of what a difference a couple of feet can make to the functionality of a space. The high quality products and sleek, contemporary design will bring years of enjoyment to the clients and their family.
